Mastering the Trade by John F. Carter

I first heard about "Mastering the Trade" by John Carter from the The Shark Report. I then navigated to tradethemarkets.com and checked out the ABC - John Carter interview. From there I decided to purchase the book. I couldn't find it at any of the main bookstores here in Montreal, so I ordered it through Amazon. I received it Friday and happily spent a good part of Saturday reading it. And I can't wait to get back to it. Finally, a book with well defined, tangible setups and techniques for day traders.

Some of the Topics/Chapters include:

Opening Gap Plays, Pivot Points, Scapling, Tick Fades, The Squeeze, Catching Trend Reversals, Swing Trades to name a few. He also presents indivudual chapters on the Pre-Market Checklist as well as, the Trader's Business Plan.

I'll do a full review when I'm finished reading the book. But so far, I'm loving it.

Jamie,

That is a really good book. When you read it you know this knows his stuff. It's not the regular fluff you find in some books. Unfortunately, I picked this up before even paper trading. It was far too complicated for me. However, I plan on reading it again in a few months. I do sift through it from time to time and get geeked up about wanting to try stuff.

Hey LP,

A really good book for intermediate traders. I'm sure that I wouldn't have appreciated and understood half of it in my early trading days.

The best day and swing trading book I have read to date. I would recommend anyone interested in purchasing this book and entering into the day trading profession read a beginner's book first, as portions of this particular book expect a certain understanding of the stock market, technical analysis and overall trading. Sam Weinstein's book tited Secrets to profiting in bull and bear markets would do just the trick!
