New Rules

Due to a recent onslaught of malicious comments, I have no choice but to turn the comment moderation feature on. These types of comments get my back up and I have responded to some of them in a condescending manner. I don't want the comments section of this blog to turn into a shit slinging contest. That's not what I'm about. So, going forward, persistent malicious comments from anonymous commenters who don't have the courage to identify themselves, will no longer be tolerated. That's not to say that I don't welcome critiques and different points of view. I certainly do, and long-time readers know that I diligently answer all questions.

I noticed that many of my fellow bloggers, most recently Trader-X and ADD Trader have also been the target of these bugs. Maybe the nuts all escaped from the same asylum, or maybe its the change of seasons. Not sure, but these things seem to come in waves every few months or so.

Morons on teh internets can be tough to deal with, especially the kind you have been dealing with lately. Even worse are the real life haters, like the ones I work with that always make fun of me for trying to learn to trade sucessfully. Oh well, once I hit it big, I'll fondly recall all of the comments. :)

Still, sometimes you come across comedy gold. I remember once that Richard got a comment that simply said "You suck and I hope you fail." I still laugh when I think about it!

Hey Prospectus,

You've been quiet lately. Hope you received my email from last Sunday.

NYSE:THE NR7 - I had a nice swing trade with this one a while back. Looks like it might be setting up another base and break on the daily timeframe.

Yes, THE looks good. AMZN looks a bit better due to the strength of the daily bars forming the flag pole. Also, MAR has a potential intermediate bottoming formation. Great Blog!

Hi Jamie,

I fully support your decision.

You were always kind answering not only my, but everybody else questions. You opened a nice space where people can exchange knownledge and trade ideas.

I would like to tell your blog is my everyday read, even though, I'm only trading Brazilian Markets. There are valuable lessons to be learned and absorbed here.

I don´t know why these fools come to criticise you. There's so much to learn here! Maybe they are jealous about your success as a trader and blogger. They can´t do by themselves so they try to demoralize you.

Man, my poor english is not enough good to say what I should say.

Tks for your time ... Your work is an art!

JH.

I had been getting emails for ages from someone and got so fed up with it, I did a post on it. I did not truly portray the full nastiness of what I was getting in emails in my post, but suffice it to say, I was quite shocked and sickened by the graphic nature and anger that person exuded!

It is all quite strange ... and that kind of stuff saddens and worries me for the future of society. :(

Jim C,

Thanks for sharing. Agree with AMZN and will add MAR to the watch list. I also like AMD which has formed a nice base at the $15.75 pivot point.

Hi Joao,

Thanks for the kind words and thanks for the support. Your English is great, I understand everything.

TG,

Its unfortuante that all good blogs attract the attention of these malicious types. Your emailer sounds like a stalker. He's not commenting on your blog, becuase he knows that your fans will crush him. Be careful and try to shake him off asap.

It's certainly a test on one's ability to feel compassion for those living in such ignorance. In a recent episode of Wallstrip they interviewed Jimmy Wales (creator of Wikipedia) where he addressed the topic of haters on the web. He mentions the fact that when one attempts to share/teach/express knowledge it typically "brings out the nutcases." It's YOUR blog, express it the way YOU want to express it. Sorry you have to put up with that trash. Otherwise....great job with your blog and keep up the good work. Thanks!

I got frustrated with the comments on my blog, so I started posting nasty comments on your blog. In retrospect, it was the wrong decision.

: )

Some people are strange...my guess is that most of the bad comments I get are from the same person either posting anon or under different names. It makes some people feel tough, knowing they can say what they want and attack others without any fear of actual confrontation or retribution. Sad.

Have a great weekend.

Fufufnik,
Thanks, just watched the Wallstrip extended interview with Jimmy Wales. He has developed one of the best knowledge sources on the WEB and in so doing has attracted , a lot of nuts and psychos who threaten his life. Recommended viewing for all Wikipedia fans.

X,

LOL

I have about two or three haters, each fixated on a specific aspect of the blog.

Agreed, It's a sad existence if one's only voice is being the bane of someone else's blog.

Enjoy the weekend and the Sopranos tonight!

Jamie,

Yes, I got your email. Thank you! I tried a trade in AKAM last week and botched it for -1R. I could have re-entered, but I held off due to the pattern daytrader rule, wanting to save my daytrades. Too bad, it would have been a big R winner! I'll keep looking, and would appreciate any examples you can point me to for study.

Thanks for the head's up on THE. I'll take a look. I'm not happy with my NR7 scan trades. I think I need some better guidelines for how to enter other than just a break or the high/low. I've done a bit of backtesting, and it doesn't show an edge. My live trading has actually done worse, since I'm not taking every single signal and I've been a bit unlucky on the ones I have chosen. I'm thinking that I might try only entering in the direction of the daily trend. Any other ideas for how to trade the NR7's?

I've been quiet lately due to some work deadlines, and I'm out of town until Wednesday, so I'll be scarce until then.

Propectus,

When I see a NR7 bar forming on the 15 minute timeframe, I drill down to the 5 minute and look for a base and break pattern.

For THE I will be looking to see if it sets up a basing pattern at $47.00 on the intraday timeframe.

Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Jamie,

Here's my NR7 scan results for tomorrow. Some big names on the list:

DNDN, MNI, GROW, NYT, TIE, BBI, MPEL.

Good trading tomorrow!

(Scan candidates are always posted .)

TJ said...

Thanks Propectus,

I will add these names to the watch list for tomorrow.

This may sound funny, but the following technique helps me when someone rages at me. I imagine that they are a chimpanzee and that the dialogue coming out of their mouth is "Ohh ohh, ahhh ahh." It allows me put the speakers' mindset into perspective. Hope it helps.

Thanks Zoomie,

Reminds me of that commercial for Gorilla stocks trades. I think it could work!
