Charts of Interest for Friday - ESRX, FAST, and GRMN. Click on the charts to enlarge. BO price is on the blue base. ESRX and GRMN look the best. FAST is quite extended, but if it sets up a low risk entry at the base, I'll take it.
LEH is an example from today. We had a shallow rounded base at the cusp of the three month trend line. I was looking for a setup at $42.00.
Placed an alert on the inside of both of the blue lines.
I didn't like the initial break because the bars were too wide and there was no real setup, so I passed. Eventually, LEH carved out a bullish pennant and I took it long. It was a bit choppy so I didn't go overboard on risk and size. It worked well and I even added more as it paused to consolidate.
These are base & break setups. High Chart Patterns are the experts in B&B. Their service is very affordable and I highly recommend it.

Excellent stuff Jamie, Thanks!
Welcome Will
I've been meaning to update the blog with the WL for a long time.
The issue I have with HCP is they don't provide a complete track record. What is so hard about listing all trades from the previous month for potential subscribers to see? If their track record was great, they would do it...and they would get a ton of subscribers.
But they don't, which tells me all I need to know.
Love your blog - but don't become a sellout for HCP!
Very good post Jamie!
I was watching FAST the day it broke $50 and retraced (I believe it was last week), but it just blew $50 and I did not see an entry. We'll see what happens tomorrow or in the next few days.
Thank you.
Hey Terry,
Thanks for the compliment.
I use HCPG because it compliments my own trading list and suits my style of trading. They do post their monthly track record of triggered setups on the blog. Sometimes there's a fine line between posting too much info and not enough. I'm sure they don't want to post their entire monthly universe of WL stocks, for obvious reasons.
Thanks Anarco,
One of the things I look for when planning the focus list, is how orderly did the stock trade leading into the setup. I find that if a stock is choppy with lots of long shadows, it might fail at the trigger point. So I look for small candles, few wicks and little or no overlap of the real bodies.
GOOG had a big earnings beat tonight so the internet stocks will likely get the spotlight tomorrow.
Jamie-
Thanks for responding. Personally, I don't buy into the "post too much" info...for every month, they can easily document every trade along with the gain or loss, and remove the exact dates and buy/sell prices so no one can "reverse engineer".
To say they post their track record on the blog is not an accurate statement. When I click on "Our Track Record" and work through the links, there is no consistent, documented track record as such.
Again, if they had good results they would be documenting them. So you and I can agree to disagree...I still love your blog!
Great blog and post! I've been trying to figure out how exactly you use your watchlists that you post.
Do you cycle through all these stocks every day all day to look for good setups or do you have a more redefined approach??
Anon,
I use TI scanner to scan the list all day long, plus alerts for stocks set to BO and sorting the list by % change. Between all that, something decent usually presents itself.
WL symbol correction (I think): NIKE should be NKE
We usually don't like getting involved... but don't want misinformation to be thrown about.
Terry, we make it very clear in the site that we have a Watch-List and a Trading List. All stocks that trigger in the Trading List are logged. Nothing arbitrary. The few charts that we do post in the blog could either be in the watch-list or trading list, if the latter, it'll be logged, if the former, it won't. All this is stated in the How to use our services on the website. We set up the service from day 1 to be completely transparent. Best, HCPG
Thanks HCPG
SLB is also an interesting stock to trade these days.
